Over the years I have created my art using a number of different techniques - which replaced one another in accordance with the periods of time, or when I was in need of renewal. Naturally, the technique gave rise to the new style and the new challenges. I started, in the 70's, "Body Art", then went through painting in acrylics and using materials from Nature - to digital art.
Five years ago, after a long period in which I created my works with the help of a computer, I wanted to return to working on materials on which I could use my hands. And so, I created a special technique - using scotch tapes cut up in little pieces, on a cardboard or Perspex surfaces, objects, lines, and a sort of mosaic. In this technique, as with the other techniques in which I created, I bring forth the story of the place in which I was born.
At the center of the exhibition is the jar/woman in the multifaceted meanings and symbols it carries. The jar that brings to mind the female body, the jar that is used for storage, the jar as the weight on a woman's head, the jar that grows a new life from within. In essence, it's an exhibition about women. And in the background there will always be the scenes of the country in the changing seasons of the year, as my works deal in my familiar and local world and not in universal phenomena.
