The artist's task as seen in the new paintings by Sasha Okun is the search for beauty in the deformation the world offers. The questions asked are drawn from the sources of the human quest: Could the portrayal of the human condition be merely a simple one? Might there be an uncomplicated way to depict and portray man's existential life on Earth? What is the meaning of beauty embedded in the human body? Can a deformed body be beautiful?
